How long does the program last? The whole program lasts approximately 12 months from your kick-off session to your final presentation.
How much time will I need to invest? In addition to attending the modules, there will be reflection time, practical application and project work involved in the programme.
What if I can't find time due to the demands of my current role? The programme is designed to support you and your career. This is a dilemma many of our HoB's face regularly, so start practicing now – prioritise and protect this time for your future. Everything has been structured to support you and your participation. If you find you are unable to devote the time, please contact learning.development@group1auto.co.uk for further discussion.
Are all the modules mandatory? Yes, if you are unable to attend a module, please email learning.development@group1auto.co.uk as soon as possible and your case will be reviewed by the Programme Team. Please note, only extenuating circumstances would be considered.
What is psychometric testing? Insights Discovery is a psychometric tool that uses a memorable four-colour framework to help people understand their personality preferences, communication styles, and behaviours. Based on the psychology of Carl Jung, it helps improve teamwork, leadership, and communication in the workplace. At the core of the methodology is a belief that everyone has a mix of four distinct "colour energies," though people usually have one or two dominant ones.
How will my manager be involved? Please look at the Roadmap and How It All Fits Together pages. If these don’t provide you with the answers you need, please speak to your buddy, the facilitator or the Programme Team.
What should I do if I'm not getting the support I need? Please email learning.development@group1auto.co.uk as soon as possible and this will be discussed by the Programme Team.
What happens when the programme finishes? We expect you to demonstrate your learning, the Group 1 Values and to bring them to life throughout the Leadership Framework. This is not a guaranteed promotion.
Where will the face-to-face modules be delivered? At our Milton Keynes Central Office. Module One will be residential and overnight accommodation between day 1 and 2 will be arranged for you by the Programme Team. For any other overnight accommodation requirements during the programme, please discuss this with your line manager for approval in advance.
